Morocco Tourism Sees Record-Breaking Performance in 2025
"This record-breaking performance confirms the strong upward momentum of Morocco's hospitality industry and marks a new chapter in the country's development of the tourism sector," the ministry noted.
Revenue from tourism climbed dramatically as well, hitting 124 billion dirhams (13.6 billion U.S. dollars) through November's close—representing a 19 percent year-over-year increase, ministry data revealed. Officials characterized these results as a "strategic milestone," positioning the nation on track toward its 2030 target of attracting 26 million annual tourists.
The explosive growth follows the North African kingdom's persistent capital deployment into tourism infrastructure modernization, spanning airport upgrades, public transportation networks, and hospitality service enhancements.
Tourism functions as a critical economic engine for Morocco, directly generating 7.4 percent of national GDP while sustaining approximately 880,000 jobs—equivalent to 5 percent of total employment—according to government statistics.
The sector's robust expansion underscores Morocco's strengthening position as a premier destination for international travelers across European, Middle Eastern, and global markets.
